Bright & Clear Cream
Why it's a stand out alternative
Using our superstar backend tool we've narrowed in on the CLAIMS ingredients of Faded. After a deep dive, we couldn't find any other product containing every one of its 7 claims ingredients (Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Kojic Acid, Melatonin, Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide, Tranexamic Acid and Licorice Root). But we did find two other products that contained 4 out of the 7, and they are the ingredients we find likely most important in the formula. The Touch Bright & Clear Cream claims to do exactly the same things as Topicals Faded cream which is to fight discoloration due to melasma, age spots, sun spots, & post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It contains Kojic Acid 3%, Azelaic Acid 10%, Niacinamide 5% and Tranexamic Acid 3%. It doesn't contain Cica, Melatonin or Licorice but these 3 we put in the more nice to have as they might not be doing the real heavy lifting in the formula. Note that Faded contains Kojic Acid 1%, Azelaic Acid 1%, Niacinamide 4% and Tranexamic Acid 3.5%. We're quite surprised that the Touch Skincare Bright & Clear Cream is one of the few products in our database with this combo of what seems to be a very powerful combo of ingredients to fight hyperpigmentation. The price point seems to offer some value as well so it’s definitely going on our try list.
Versed
Out of Sight Dark Spot Gel
Why it's a stand out alternative
Containing tranexamic acid (2%), kojic acid (1%), niacinamide (5%) and glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract (1%), the Versed Out of Sight Dark Spot Gel is one of the 2 products we found that contain 4 out of the 7 main claim ingredients from Topicals Faded. Just like Faded, the product claims to fade dark spots and the ingredients are said to impede melanin production to even out skin tone without irritation. The only claims ingredients in Faded that are missing from this one are cica, azelaic acid and melatonin.
