This Month's New Product Launches

Newness is what drives the beauty industry and what keeps our team busy every week adding new products to our SKINSKOOL database. Here are a few of this month’s new launches that caught our eye.

Peace Out Redness Reducing + Clarifying Mist ($28 for 100mL)

Peace Out Redness and Clarifying Mist

Part of our job is always keeping our finger on the pulse of the next new trend in skincare. Lately we’ve seen users getting more interested in products for reactive skin, which fits squarely within the current trend for "anti-inflammatory and soothing skincare”. These products are mostly designed to calm irritated skin and reduce redness.

As you may already know, one of the more affordable brands on the market staying atop of trends is Peace Out and in line with this trend they’ve just launched their new Redness Reducing + Clarifying Mist. It’s designed to address common skin concerns such as redness, irritation, and excess oil. Formulated with a blend of hydrating, soothing, and purifying ingredients, this mist aims to improve the overall health and appearance of the skin. Key components include niacinamide, known for its anti-inflammatory and skin barrier-improving properties, kaolin, a natural clay that absorbs excess oil and impurities, and hypochlorous acid, which offers antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. Additionally, botanical extracts like Centella Asiatica and willow bark extract provide soothing, healing, and exfoliating effects. This mist is suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin, helping to calm irritation, reduce redness, and clarify the complexion.

Three Ships Restore Ceramides + Gotu Kola Barrier Repair Cream ($37 for 45g)

Three Ships Restore Ceramides + Gotu Kola Barrier Repair Cream

We first came across Three Ships when we discovered that they make a cream highly similar cream to Goop but at seriously a fraction of the price. Well they are back with a new product called Restore Ceramides + Gotu Kola Barrier Repair Cream. It is designed to strengthen and repair the skin's natural barrier. The formulation includes hydrating and protective ingredients aimed at restoring skin health. Key ingredients like squalane and glycerin help to moisturize the skin, while ceramide NP works to reinforce the skin barrier, preventing moisture loss and protecting against environmental damage. Caprylic/capric triglyceride and jojoba esters provide additional hydration and nourishment, ensuring the skin remains soft and supple.

Centella asiatica (gotu kola) leaf extract is included for its soothing and healing properties, which help to calm irritated skin and promote skin repair. The cream also contains sunflower seed wax and cetearyl alcohol, which contribute to a smooth, creamy texture that is easy to apply. Tocopherol (vitamin E) acts as an antioxidant, protecting the skin from free radical damage. The combination of these ingredients helps to maintain skin hydration, improve barrier function, and soothe the skin.

Given its focus on strengthening and repairing the skin barrier, Three Ships Restore Ceramides + Gotu Kola Barrier Repair Cream would credibly fit into the "barrier repair" or "skin barrier strengthening" category, which is currently trending for its emphasis on protecting and maintaining the integrity of the skin's natural defenses.

Babor Stress Defense Mushroom Cream ($69 for 50mL)

Doctor Babor Stress Defense Mushroom Cream

Babor, maker of one of our favourite luxury price comparables (remember their calming serum is very similar to pricier Barbara Sturm's), has also just launched something new. Their Stress Defense Mushroom Cream is formulated to protect and soothe the skin from daily stressors. The cream combines hydrating and nourishing ingredients to enhance skin resilience and comfort. Key ingredients include glycerin and propanediol, which provide moisture to keep the skin hydrated. Sweet almond oil and sunflower seed oil offer additional hydration and nourishment, while cetearyl alcohol and coco-caprylate/caprate help to create a smooth and creamy texture.

The cream features several extracts from mushrooms, such as Lentinus Edodes, Ganoderma Lucidum, and Inonotus Obliquus, known for their antioxidant properties, which help protect the skin from environmental damage. Panax ginseng root extract and Acer Rubrum bark extract further support skin defense and rejuvenation. Lactococcus ferment lysate and hydrolyzed yeast protein are included to strengthen the skin barrier and improve overall skin health. Biosaccharide gum-1, lactic acid, and tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) work together to soothe and condition the skin.

Given its focus on soothing, hydrating, and protecting the skin from stress, Babor's Stress Defense Mushroom Cream would credibly fit into the "anti-stress skincare" or "adaptogenic skincare" category, which is currently trending for its focus on combating the effects of environmental stressors on the skin.
