What it is
The AHA Cleanse is a dual-purpose skincare product designed to function both as an active cleanser and a micro mask. It aims to improve the appearance of the skin by exfoliating and hydrating it. The formulation contains a blend of acids intended to promote smoother and more even-toned skin by removing dead skin cells and retaining moisture.
Key ingredients and their functions
- Lactic Acid - exfoliant
- Polyhydroxy Acid - exfoliant/humectant
- Glycerin - humectant
- Myristyl Myristate - emulsifying agent
- Glyceryl Stearate - emulsifying agent
- Squalane - moisturizing agent
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride - emollient
- Ethylhexyl Palmitate - skin conditioning agent
How it works
The AHA Cleanse combines lactic acid and polyhydroxy acid to exfoliate the skin and promote a smoother texture. Lactic acid helps to speed up cell turnover by loosening and removing dead skin cells. Polyhydroxy acid also exfoliates but is gentler and acts as a humectant, which means it helps in attracting and retaining moisture. Glycerin further enhances the product's hydrating properties by drawing moisture to the skin. Myristyl Myristate and Glyceryl Stearate act as emulsifying agents, ensuring the product's consistency. Squalane and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride provide moisturizing and emollient properties, helping to maintain skin hydration. Ethylhexyl Palmitate functions as a skin conditioning agent, contributing to the overall smooth feel of the skin.
